Champlain Valley Agency on Aging
Helping People Age
with Independence and Dignity

Champlain Valley Agency on Aging, Inc. (CVAA) is a private, non-profit, United Way organization that supports the efforts of people 60 and older in Addison, Chittenden, Franklin, and Grand Isle counties to remain active, healthy, financially secure, and in control of their own lives.

Our staff and volunteers know how to put older people and their caregivers in touch with a wide range of the services they need to live independently for as long as possible.

A Successful Community Partnership: Lyric and CVAA’s Feed Pets 2

Lyric’s community partner for  their  recent production of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast was the Feed Pets 2 initiative of the Champlain Valley Area Agency on Aging.  Volunteers were  on  hand at all performances of the show to inform audience members about this important project and to accept donations of cat food and dog food as well as cash contributions toward the cause.  CVAA employee (and Lyric volunteer) Bev Hill reported that the organization collected 438 pounds of food and $988.33 in cash donations.

Fifty-three seniors have called in requests for pet food for 83 cats and 23 dogs.  Volunteers will be delivering food to seniors on Saturday, May 17th.  If you would like to help with deliveries, contact Bev at 865-0360 or bev@cvaa.org.  On behalf of CVAA, Bev extends thanks to Lyric Theatre Company from the companion “beasts” in the four-county area served by CVAA.
